April Ross
April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball stars who have won medals in more than one Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman, who is a first-time Olympian. More than that though Ross is aiming to capture the first Olympic gold. The next chance she'll ever have as she is 39 years old. However, she's confident that top honors are firmly within reach. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, or even a good game her team will be able to win the gold medal. "I'm trying to also try a little luck." Ross born the 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area together with her parents. Ross went on to play in many sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete she played indoor track and volleyball. She stood out however in this sport. In her time at high school, she was a middle blocker outside setter and hitter on the volleyball court per her college bio. Thanks to her hard work she was awarded the 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her for volleyball. Ross is playing with Klineman since 2017, but Ross's beach game was well-established long before the year. She's won big events twice, with various partners. A couple of those is an icon of the volleyball world. She teamed up along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's coach. Along together with Kessy, Ross won an Olympic Title in 2009 when she competed internationally. They went through to take home a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the group that could take home the gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. The pair went on to earn the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. After high school and years before she hit the beach as a professional Ross balled out to the Trojans at USC while a collegiate. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was amazing. When she was a freshman in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA the Freshman of the Year award. In addition, she helped her Trojans to reach the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal loss in her sophomore year however she was able to return her place as an All-American. In the two years she played for the Trojans they helped win consecutive championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named as the most successful collegiate female volleyball player in America through The Honda Sports Award. Ross was a student at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the opportunity to see Ross' daughter blossom into the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross's mother passed away from breast carcinoma in 2001. Ross had just become an undergraduate student in the second year at USC. She has kept her mother in her his heart. Margie at the beach and in daily life, inspires her.
