Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on Jan. 19. 1946 to a humble family of 12 children eventually included, discovered early that she was able to escape suffering through her creative mind. Her songs were written before she was able to write or read. At the age of 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar and began to sing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The first album she recorded was within the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a tiny independent label. Even though she became popular in the local scene while she was at High School, she knew her ambitions were bigger. After graduating high school in 1964 she immediately moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first single to reach the top of the charts at the top of Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time, was in search for a female singer for his program. Parton took the job in 1966. She then she joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. Parton left the show however, in 1974 due to her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to No. The song of Parton in 1974."I Will Never Love You climbed to No.
